Dear Students:
Tidewater Community College (TCC) is committed to furthering student academic, personal, and professional development. Realizing the role that alcohol and other drugs may have on their development, TCC takes a genuine interest in educating students about the risks associated with their usage. To this endeavor, TCC is pleased to provide two online resources—College ALC and myPlaybook.
College ALC is an online course that consists of four lessons that take approximately 20 minutes each to complete. The three primary course objectives are
1) to increase your knowledge about the effects of alcohol on the body based on personal risk factors;
2) assist you in identifying strategies that can be used to prevent alcohol-related harm from occurring to self and others if needed; and,
3) model appropriate responses to alcohol-related situations.
myPlaybook , also an online course that was developed with the same primary objectives, relates specifically to student-athletes. This course consists of a single lesson that takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.
TCC encourages all of its students to take advantage of one or both of these valuable programs. We wish you a healthy and successful experience at TCC.
